Q: What methods of payments do you accept?

A: Cash, Debit, Credit, and Amex.  Prices do not include GST

Q: Where are you located?

A: 13708 Castledowns Road. It is right on the corner of the intersection at 137 ave and Castledowns road (also know as 113A street). 

Q: What are your hours of operation?

A: Tuesday to Friday 9am - 5pm, Saturday 10am - 4pm, Sunday and Monday CLOSED. After 5pm we are by appointment only. Holidays CLOSED.

Q: How far in advance do I need to book?

A: On average 1-3 days is good if you are flexible and 3-4 days for more specific times but 1 week guarantees more availability.  You can ask but we don't usually have same day appointments available.

Q: I have curly hair do you have stylists who specialize in curly hair?

A: Absolutely! We now have our DevaCurl product that Stephanie is trained and certified in to help you understand and treat your curls. Stephanie also specializes in the even more ethnic, tight curly hair.

Q: What color line do you use?

A: We currently use Pravana Chromosilk

Q: I have box color in my hair will that make a difference?

A: Yes, it depends how dark it is or what tones you have. In most cases it has to be stripped first and then covered with your desired color. You can go the cheap and damaging route of bleach or try our new color extractor which removes artificial pigment safely!

Q: One of your stylists is running a promotion but she is not my regular stylist, can I book with her instead?

A: Yes and No, promotions offered by one stylist only are to bring in new clients who have never tried out the salon. If every stylist is participating in the same promotion then yes you can book with anyone. However if you ask/tell your stylist and she agrees then yes you may book with someone else just keep in mind you may then have a new stylist.

Q: Someone referred me to your salon, do I get a discount?

A: Unfortunately not. The referral discount goes to the person who referred you. Unless they gave you a coupon of some sort with a discount on it.

Q: Do you supply hair for extensions?

A: Yes we do! We now carry Shannon Marie, Sophia Milan, & American Dream. These are high quality extensions. We are currently looking into bringing in Peruvian hair within the next couples months at a more affordable cost.

Q: Where can I pick up hair?

A: We now sell hair for track and sew extensions as well as clip ins. Hair for any other type of extensions can be ordered online through us or picked up at your local extension store.

Q: How much hair do I need?

A: Fusions and Microlinks/Microloops need about 150-200 pieces per head. Track and sew, ez weft/micro weft, bead sew in only need one pack of hair. And full weave needs 4 packs of synthetic hair or 2.5-3 packs of human hair 

Q: Do extensions damage your hair?

A: No they do not. Damage occurs from poor maintenance, styling tools, and excess pulling of the hair

Q: Lots of hair comes out when I take my extensions out... am I losing hair?

A: No you are not. You must remember everyday we naturally shed 50-100 hairs. With extensions these hairs can get caught in whatever method you have in and therefore come out with your extensions when you take them out.  It is completely normal the hair has already shed.  It will seem scary because extensions add not only length but thickness and after having them in for months you will not be use to your natural thickness anymore thinking you've lost hair, but you did not.

Q: Do you do weddings?

A: Yes, however we do not travel. We will book off the salon just for wedding parties and we will open early if needed for wedding parties aswell.


Q: My shirt got wet during rinsing and I have a color/bleach stain, what can you do? Is there anything I can do?

A: Detailz Salon and/or stylists are not responsible for replacing articles of clothing. To best avoid this situation you must get your neck completely in the bowl and let us control your head. Do not lift your head out of the bowl! We ask that as a precaution you do not wear nice clothes to the salon period. We do not replace clothes, we do not give discounts and we do not do refunds. Spray your shirt with hairspray and then wash your shirt right away. If it doesn't work you can then redye your shirt using RIT dye remover and color. So there is no need to throw it away.

Q: I bought a voucher and it expired. Isn't this illegal?

A: No. The promotional value on the voucher is allowed to expire. However the dollar amount you spent on the voucher can not expire. Therefore if you have bought a voucher and it expired you are not entitled to the services offered on the voucher anymore, but you are more than welcome to come in and receive whichever services you would like and we will deduct the amount you paid for the voucher off of your bill.

Q: I don't want my picture taken for the donation is that ok?

A: Yes. But as part of our program you must give us a before and after picture to showcase in order to receive the free haircut. You can request not to have your face showing in the pictures if you would prefer.
